# Attributions — GUTTERWORK

Every fragment in the five pieces is cut from a **Golden Age comic book scanned by Digital Comic
Museum volunteers** and mirrored on the Internet Archive. The Digital Comic Museum
(https://digitalcomicmuseum.com) hosts only books whose US copyright was never renewed and which
its staff and members have researched as public domain; the site itself requires a free login to
download, so the files were pulled from the Internet Archive mirrors listed below (DCM contributor
tags such as *DCP*, *js-DCP* and *JVJ* appear in the scan filenames). No photographs, no
contemporary imagery, no generated imagery, no set type pretending to be lettering: if it did not
come off one of these scanned pages, it is not in the work.

## What this means for reuse

All source material is US public domain, so the finished pieces carry no upstream licence
obligations. The pieces themselves, the build script, the philosophy and this ledger are released
by Marc Watkins under **CC BY 4.0**; the fonts used for the small indicia line (Futura and Courier
New, outlined to paths) are macOS system faces and appear only as vector outlines.

Sourcing via the Internet Archive advanced-search and metadata APIs; fragment preparation in
Python (Pillow + NumPy) using the *collage-design* skill's `cut.py` masks, `knockout.py` mattes
and the movement's own harvesters (`lib/harvest.py`: panel cut, balloon harvest) and press
(`lib/press.py`: CMYK halftone re-print); text outlined with fontTools; rendered with headless
